Vetri SAMe is a product to help maintain optimal health and function of the liver.

  • Liver health and function
  • Antioxidant support
  • Detoxification
  • Sensitive stomachs

Vetri SAMe 90 is formulated to support liver health and function in dogs and cats 12 pounds and under. The combination of SAMe (S-Adenosylmethionine) and powerful antioxidant glutathione acts as the first line of defense for your pets liver. SAMe is involved in many of the liver’s biochemical reactions, including detoxification and antioxidant defense. SAMe supports production of Glutathione, which is a critical antioxidant for detoxification of drugs and toxins in the liver. Glutathione supports liver health through antioxidant protection and detoxification of the liver. It can help protect liver cells from toxins and reduce damage to liver cells that can be caused by medication. Vetri SAMe 90 is enteric coated to protect it from the digestive system and ensure absorption and utilization of nutrients.

Research shows that SAMe also supports cognitive function by stimulating increased activity of serotonin and dopamine. For best results, administer tablet on an empty stomach one hour prior to feeding.

About the formula:

S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) supports liver function through methylation and formation of glutathione. As the body’s major methyl donor, SAMe is involved in many important biochemical reactions in the liver, including detoxification and formation of many potent
antioxidants. In the liver, SAMe supports intracellular glutathione production.

Glutathione is the body’s master antioxidant and intracellular detoxifying agent. It is necessary for detoxification of drugs and toxins in the liver.

SAMe is important for maintaining normal membrane function in liver cells. SAMe also has lipotropic activity, which reduces the amount of fat in the liver--one of the leading contributors of impaired liver function. When the liver is stressed or injured, SAMe production decreases resulting in low glutathione levels. A low level of antioxidants in the liver lowers the liver’s ability to function normally. In fact, those suffering from liver disorders have been found to have low levels of SAMe.

Glutathione (GSH) supports liver health through antioxidant protection and detoxification of the liver. As an antioxidant, it quenches oxygen-free radicals to reduce oxidative damage. GSH can help protect liver cells from toxins and reduce damage to liver cells that can be caused by some medications. Through enzymes it modifies substances to allow them to be excreted
from the body. The GSH in this formula is enteric coated to ensure absorption in the small intestine.

Vetri SAMe also supports cognitive function. SAMe contributes to the balancing of the activity associated with brain neurotransmitters. It enhances the binding of neurotransmitters to receptor sites within the brain, resulting in increased activity of serotonin and dopamine. The clinical evidence for the effectiveness of SAMe as a mood enhancing nutrient has been supported in nearly 100 published studies.

In humans, SAM-e has been found to help reduce pain from arthritis. Some research has shown that oral SAM-e is as effective as NSAID painkillers. Although SAM-e takes longer to act than drugs do, but it also has fewer side effects than NSAIDs.
